Millions of apps are available on the Google Play Store, but many of them pose a risk to users. Google regularly removes such apps through its Google Play Protect program. Recently, Google identified and removed 12 dangerous apps, including remote access Trojan called Vauraspy, which were being used for espionage. These apps had the ability to access users’ contacts, messages, files, and device locations.
The 12 identified apps are
- Rafaqat
- Privee Talk
- Meetme
- Let’s Chat
- Quick Chat
- Chit Chat
- Hello Chat
- Yahootalk
- Titalk
- Nidus
- Glowchat
- Wavechat
These apps have since been removed from the Google Play Store. If any of these apps are currently installed on your phone, it is strongly advised to remove them immediately to ensure the security of your device and personal information.
