18 OTT Apps Banned: The decision to ban these platforms was made due to their violation of sections 67 and 67A of the Information Technology Act, section 292 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and section 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

The content hosted on these platforms was deemed obscene and derogatory, particularly towards women. It often featured nudity and sexual acts, which were considered detrimental to societal values, including the relationship between students and teachers.

In addition to the OTT platforms and websites, the government also banned 12 Facebook accounts, 17 Instagram accounts, 16 X accounts, and 12 YouTube accounts for violating regulations.
