Update for WhatsApp Users, This Feature Will Not Be Available For Free

WhatsApp is used by all smartphone users. Billions of people around the world communicate with each other through WhatsApp every day. Furthermore, it also allows users to share photos, videos, and other important data. Google has been providing users with the facility to back up their WhatsApp chats to Google Drive for years and does not charge any money for it. But this year everything is going to change. Let us tell you about it in detail.

It is being told that in the first six months of the year 2024, WhatsApp chat backup will start being included in the Google Drive storage limit of users. This will affect those who were dependent on 15 GB. This means that people who have been relying on Google Drive to keep their special photos, videos, and chats safe will now have to consider purchasing additional storage through Google One with WhatsApp.

These are subscription plans

Google One and Google Drive respective subscription plans offer three main plans on a monthly and yearly basis. Monthly costs include Basic (100GB) £1.59 / $1.99, Standard (200GB) £2.49 / $2.99 and Premium (2TB) £7.99 / $9.99. These schemes were monthly. Talking about the annual basis, users will have to pay £15.99 / $19.99 for the Basic (100GB) plan, £24.99 / $29.99 for the Standard (200GB) plan, and £79.99 / $99.99 for the Premium (2TB) plan. Prices have not been announced yet in India.

New features are in the works

There are reports that WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that will allow users to connect without revealing their phone numbers. However, concrete information has not been received about when this feature will come into the market, but it is expected that this feature may also come this year.
